Day 23: 23/03/26

A Rest Day in Hampshire

Today I spent the day with Kate and Tom at their lovely home. It was so nice to have a chill day, to sort my kit, catch up and refresh.

We started by having a quiet morning before going to the supermarket to replenish my supplies. I also got my map out to show them my route. This map of the UK is coming with me along my journey. I’ve been using it to show units where I’m going and it’s great to look and see where I’ve got to. Though it still doesn’t quite feel real when I look at it! I’m just enjoying walking each day. I’ve not really processed how far I’ve walked already!

After lunch, we went on a short walk around Kate’s village. It was really lovely to see her local countryside and nice to stretch my legs a little too.

Kate’s Guides are making pipe cleaner flowers this week. So, I had a go at making a practice one, and sewed a badge on for her. It was nice to do some crafting as I’ve not been able to do any on my trip so far. Before setting off, I ummed and ahhed about bringing some socks along to knit, but they didn’t make the weight cut!

We spent the evening watching a Girlguiding Walking CPD session. I have to do CPD to keep my walking qualifications up to date and it’s always really interesting. It was also really nice to see lots of the Girlguiding Walking community virtually! Hearing their well wishes was lovely 🥰 I’ve met so many wonderful people whilst doing my walking qualifications.

Tomorrow, I’ll be back to Goring to continue along the Ridgeway.
